Delete your CETEChat account

You can delete your account yourself, at any time. It takes a minute and cannot be undone.

Steps

Open app.cetechat.com/delete-account and sign in (or, in the app, tap your photo, then Profile and security, then Security).
Tap Delete my account.
Type DELETE and your password to confirm.

If you cannot sign in, email privacy@cetechat.com from the address on your account and we will delete it for you within 30 days.

Straight away: your profile, username, phone number, encryption keys, devices, sign-ins and notification addresses, every message and file you sent, your reactions, your Private Vault, and your chat backup kept on our server.
Threads: where other people replied to one of your messages, your message becomes "This message was deleted." with no content, so their replies still make sense.
Your company: if you are the only person in a workspace, it is deleted with everything in it and any subscription is cancelled. If you are the only owner of a workspace that has other people, make someone else an owner first.

Messages other people sent stay with them.
Each workspace's audit log keeps a note that your account was deleted, with your name only.
To stop the same company claiming repeated free trials, we keep the anonymous fingerprint Stripe gives the card used for a trial (never the card number).
Invoices and other business records a company is required to keep stay with that company.
