Reporting a security issue
Last updated: 15 October 2026
We welcome reports from anyone who finds a security problem in CETEChat: the web app, the iPhone and Android apps, the server or this website. This page explains how to tell us and what we ask in return.
How to report
Email security@cetechat.com. Please include:
- what the problem is and what someone could do with it;
- the steps to reproduce it, with the addresses, app versions and devices you used;
- how we can reach you if we have questions.
We will confirm we have your report within a few working days and keep you updated while we fix it.
What we ask of you
- Give us reasonable time to fix it before you share details with anyone else. We will agree a date with you.
- Only use accounts and data that are yours, or that the owner has agreed to let you test with. Do not access, change or delete other people's messages, files or information. If you come across someone else's data by accident, stop, do not keep a copy, and tell us.
- No denial of service: no flooding, load testing or anything else that slows the service down or makes it unavailable for others.
- No social engineering of our staff or customers, and no physical attacks.
Our promise
If you act in good faith and follow this page, we will not take legal action against you or ask anyone else to, and we will work with you to understand and fix the problem. We are happy to thank you publicly once it is fixed, if you would like that.
